These results have a wide range of implications for propagation phenomena and other dynamical processes in networks. Quenched disorder can be replaced by topological heterogeneity in networks with finite topological dimension. Griffiths phases and other rare region effects have been studied in more general models, such as complex networks. Under this condition, the critical temperature, T c, at which finite-size scaling is observed, becomes a wide range of T. An example of this is Griffiths phases, which arise when a certain degree of spatial disorder is applied. When modeling ferromagnets with this kind of model, it is possible to find an indication that heterogeneity modifies the dynamics. Cellular automata are particular cases of Boolean networks where the state of a variable is determined by its spatial neighbors.
